Daisies and Joss House steps, Mendocino

| Painted dragon red, the small wooden building known locally as the Joss House was always locked up tight. The Chinese community that had presumably built and used it was long gone from Mendocino. Yet the variety and profusion of flowers that grew around the Joss House was remarkable &, to me, mysterious. |
