| These signs girdle the huge city-block-sized armory at 27th & Lex. They start at the sidewalk & stop at
the height of a tall man. They stretch for blocks in every direction. Nothing prepared me for these thousands. I could not
read what their loved ones had written. I had no idea how to show what I was
seeing with photographs and wasn't sure I should try. I clicked the
shutter mechanically It has been a week since these people disappeared. In a matter of days or weeks a hard rain will come. Soon these signs won't be here anymore. |
